IRON DERRICKMAN® PLUS
The IRON DERRICKMAN® PLUS is a racking board mounted pipe handling system that is designed to mount into existing offshore Jack-up or Platform drilling rigs. The system removes drilling hands from the racking board and the drill floor during tripping operations.
The IRON DERRICKMAN ® PLUS vertically lift's, racks and un-racks stands of Drill Pipe, Heavyweight and Drill Collars to 10" racking collar fingers all without a Derrickman in the derrick or a Roughneck on the drill floor.
The combination of innovative mechanical engineering, positive control hydraulic closed loop circuitry, electrical motion controls and radio and a direct wired operator's panel make for an intuitive feel of all movements by the operator.
Combined with the Vertical Offline Stand Builder, the IRON DERRICKMAN® PLUS Stand package provides safety as well as great savings for any operator.
DESCRIPTION
- Designed for easy installation into offshore Barge, Jack-up and Platform Rigs. Attached to or built as part of the racking board, the system is compact and light weight. Mounting is against the inside of the derrick below the racking board.
- The IRON DERRICKMAN® PLUS lifts a stand of drill pipe from below the tool joint, moves the stand through the rotating gate and automatically racks the pipe in the board. Triple stands of drill collars up to 9” are lifted and racked within collar fingers on the well center side the Iron Derrickman®
- The Iron Derrickman® PLUS eliminates the need for wind walls on the racking board.
- The system is operated from the rig floor through a portable radio control or via a hard wired panel.
