1. The system consists of an offline stand building mast on an oilfield skid. The VOSB system is located adjacent to the catwalk on the off-drillers side.
2. The mast is hydraulically raised and scoped.

3. A single pipe joint is conveyed horizontally into position in the base of the VOSB mast. Pipe dope is applied to the box and the pipe is strapped while in this position.
4. The traveling lift plate picks up the first joint below the box end and hoists it to vertical.

5. The pipe is set on the floor and a hand-off takes place from the traveling lift plate to the split traveling block.
6. The first joint is hoisted by the traveling block while the lift plate is lowered. A second joint is moved into position, doped and strapped.

7. The second single is hoisted to vertical while the first is suspended in the traveling blocks.
8. The first joint is stabbed into the second and the 2 are spun together by a spinner in the floor of the VOSB. An optional torque wrench located at the location of the tool joint torques the connection.

9. The traveling block is lowered to below the connection and the double is hoisted through the opening in the crown of the offline mast making room for the next single to be added.
10. The pipes in the offline mast are guided and supported for safe hoisting.

11. The third joint of pipe is moved into position, doped, strapped and hoisted by the traveling lift plate.
12. The double is stabbed into the single and made up.

13. The traveling block is repositioned to the last made up connection and the stand is hoisted through the racking board.
14. The Iron Derrickman® takes the stand from the VOSB for racking.
